Brooklands care team win top award
Three members of the team at Brooklands Care Home have won the award for Best Care Team in the Great East of England Care Awards, presented at a Gala dinner at the Holiday Inn, Peterborough West on January 13th 2017.
The purpose of the awards is to pay tribute to those individuals and teams who have demonstrated outstanding excellence in their field of work.
The team, who combined have 20 years of service with Brooklands, include team leader, Lorraine Holmes, senior carer, Edgar Ferraris and carer, Matt Levick.
Julia Chapman-Wright, manager of Brooklands said: “This is a well-deserved award. Watching this team in action, it is so evident that they have the utmost respect for our residents and a real understanding of what dignity means. They always treat residents as individuals. They are perfect role models for the wider team at Brooklands”.
The award submission particularly noted Lorraine Holme’s inspirational leadership. She brings exceptional care, compassion, respect and appreciation to everything she does and leads by example, making the most of every opportunity to make residents lives special.
Julia adds: “Whilst the team’s focus is on exemplary care for our residents, they also show patience and respect to their colleagues too and great friendships have been borne out of our close working environment – all making for a happy home with a great atmosphere.
Carebase Group owners of Brooklands in Norwich wins prestigious care award for the second time
Carebase beat nine other finalists to take the Care Employer Award in this year’s Great British Care Awards 2015 held at the ICC, Birmingham on April 24th.
The company, which has previously won the award in 2010, was praised by the judges for “the infectious enthusiasm and the commitment and innovation they demonstrated in encouraging and rewarding their teams – a role model for employers”.
